This website and its tools are for general information and education. They are not personal financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and are not an offer or recommendation to buy or sell any product. Examples are illustrative and use simplified assumptions. Rates, rules, taxes and protections differ by country and over time, and real products carry terms that these tools do not model. Consider speaking to a qualified, regulated professional before acting.

Privacy
The calculators, health check, quiz and checklist generator run entirely in your browser. The figures and answers you enter are not sent to any server and are not stored, apart from two small preferences kept on your own device if you use them: your light or dark theme, and your chosen currency.
If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you enter are sent through a form-delivery service to the author, and used only to reply to you. They are not added to a mailing list or shared.
If you subscribe to the Reader’s Letter, your email address is stored by Kit, the email service that sends the letter, in an account owned by the author. It is used only to send the letter and the free toolkit, a few times a year. It is not sold or shared, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To be removed or to see what is held, contact the author.
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and is measured with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service that stores no personal data and does not track you across sites. It records page views, which links are clicked (for example the link to the book on Amazon) and which tools are used, never what you type into them. Questions: hello@moneyexplainedbook.com.
The Reading Room (notes, saved items, reading progress, timer and preferences) stores what you write in this browser only. It is never sent to the author or to any service, and the site’s analytics record only that a feature was used, never what you wrote. You can download a backup or clear it all from the Reading Room at any time.
Privacy choices
The site counts visits without cookies and without profiling anyone: it records which pages are read, which tools are used and whether the Amazon link is clicked, in aggregate. It does not store anything on your device for this purpose.
If you would like to help the author understand how many readers come back, you can switch on one extra, optional measure. It stores a small anonymous counter on this device (how many times you have visited, never who you are) and shares only “new”, “returning” or “loyal”. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off here at any time.
